Beat up from the feet up. Like a dummy, around mile 10, I saw a guy ahead of me and just had to catch him. Turns out that is was the same dude that beat me by 9 seconds in the half marathon I ran last year. He is actually a really nice guy and will be running Boston this year...... qualified with a 3:05.

It wasn't an easy effort..... I was definitely struggling through this one. I feel like I should be running 8:00 min. + on these long runs. I'm always getting caught up in what the watch says. If I want to aim for something like a 3:10 marathon/7:14 pace, then shouldn't my long runs be averaging 30-45 seconds slower than that?

According to training paces calculators, yes, you should be running slower. But, it has become obvious that you are capable of much faster paces, right?

Are you sure you want to fix your "I can't stop running too fast" problem?!
