5.85 miles @ lunch

Mini workout that kicked my butt.  2.25 mile warm up down to the grass track in Fort Devens. On Google maps I could clearly see where the track was worn down, but being Spring time, everything was filled in and indiscernible. I was thinking of copying a Slowjoe workout from last week.  800's with 2 minutes rest. Needless to say, I am a newbie concerning these kinds of workouts and I didn't realize what I was in for. I intended on five intervals but could only muster four.... fail.  (2:55, 2:43, 2:43, 2:40) Wow, that was tough. 1.6 miles back to work.

My work is circled in red and the grass track has the arrow next to it:

Closer up:

This next one is the real track that I should run to (about 3ish miles from work).  It's a beautiful orange/red rubberized track..... I love it.  My work is circled again and the track has the arrow.

That's one smokin' fast fail.

There is a victory behind every failure.

Yeah, I wasn't going that fast! Nice job. It's hard to find the pace in an interval workout that will allow you to complete all the reps but still challenge you.

I had to use my gamin since I couldn't see where the track was supposed to be. I'll post a snip of the satellite shot tonight. I plan on doing this on a real track next week. A legit track won't lie.

Pretty sure you'll go faster on the rubber track too!

From Jason D on Thu, May 22, 2014 at 19:21:52 from 24.1.80.94

I would say you were a bit too successful :)

Probably a bit closer to 2:55-2:58 for 3k pace. But you kept cranking!

I think I need to try this 800's workout too. It's only been 8 months since I did it last. I'm sure I'll be crying at the end!
