4:30am - 5 miles.  Once again started slow and ended a bit faster. 

I have a question for anyone willing to answer.....  Is it a bad idea to push the pace near the end of a run? 

The reason I'm asking is because I always feel like I have something left that last mile to half mile.  Just curious if finishing strong with a good kick can be detrimental to training.  I haven't done any track work or speed work, so should that kind of training be totally separate from my generally slow runs?

Couldn't get up at 4:30 am for two consecutive mornings, so......  5:15 am and I was on the road with no watch.  I thought that I would try to gauge my run by what my body was telling me instead of the watch.  It felt great, but the only problem was with the later start I had to cut my run short.  Believe it or not, sometimes I consider others and wanted to make sure my wife could get in her walk before I had to leave for work.  The 2.3 mile run ended with the monster hill in my neighborhood which I crushed with ease.  Ha ha.... yeah right.
