GROTON ROAD RACE
Tot-trot: my youngest daughter Paige!
Paige, my youngest daughter was first to run. She's a very competitive 6 year old who does not like to lose. I could see the intensity immediately today when she was overly concerned about the other runners encroaching on her start line position. Paige ran a great race and was hindered by the starting ribbon getting wrapped around her head :( She was the first girl across the finish nonetheless. Great race Paige!
2K with my daughter Maggie! - (1.2 miles)
Last year's race, Maggie went out way too fast and fizzled in the middle a bit with a finishing time of 11:22 or so...... this year she kept it more conservative at the start and shaved off a bunch of time finishing with a 10:33! Way to go Maggie!
5K - 19:08 - 6:10 avg.
I wasn't exactly sure where I was fitness wise before this race, but I'm pleased with the outcome. I definitely had a tiny bit more in the tank, but the effort was very controlled and even.
