8.62 miles @ lunch

It hit the 30 degree mark today at noon.  I was able to wear shorts, but still needed a hat, spring gloves and sufficient layers up top.  The day off yesterday brought some life back to my legs along with a right hamstring rub from my wife.  I gave her a back rub in return...... our relationship is not a one way street.

Anyways, on to the run.  I really felt good but decided that I would take it nice & easy due to the little niggles here and there.  I wore the K-Mart special watch and thus didn't have the beep every mile to remind me of my pace.  I figured with the effort level and ease of the run, I was probably running a 7:45 pace or so.  I was pleasantly surprised after mapping out the route and calculating the pace that I was actually moving at a 7:19 avg.  Rest days and shorts must be the reason.  Some runs turn out good and some not so good.  Wisdom....

Nice run! I see the difference in you and me, I run without my Garmin and I feel like I'm running a 7:19 pace when in reality I'm running an 8:19 pace. When you run without your Garmin you think you're running a 7:45 pace and your actually running a 7:19 pace. Makes me depressed (but happy for you!).
