8 miles - pm It was so hot out, but I was super lucky to see a young buck and a doe in the woods upon entering the trail about 1/4 of a mile from my house. I spooked them as I was coming around a bend, and they would bound away and then stop and look back at me :) It almost seemed like they were playing with me. The last & final time we played peek-a-boo, the deer startled a hawk out of a tree and I was able to watch the amazing bird fly through the sparse trees in front of me...... what a start to a tough grind of a run.
